Royal & Sun-Alliance (R&SA) has launched a new insurance policy called Inherent Defects.

It offers cover against the cost of repairing and strengthening a building where damage has been caused by problems in structural or non-structural elements (such as weather- or water-proofing and mechanical and electrical services).

It was developed with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the British Property Federation.
