Manchester-based broker Alec Finch & Co plans to use its status as a newly-accredited Lloyd's broker to place European business into Lloyd's.
Chairman Alec Finch said that as well as providing the service for its existing UK-based clients, the company would place business for members of the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN), of which it is a member.
The WBN is a network of 53 international members with premium income in excess of £4.5bn
Finch said that he expected the service to be utilised predominantly by WBN's European members, as many of the US-based members already had existing relationships at Lloyd's. "There are a number of members in Europe who've found it difficult to get access to Lloyd's syndicates," Finch said.
