Underwriting Risk Services (URSL) is set to expand its footprint in the UK fine art market after capturing a specialist team from Art Inc.

Simon Wilmott-Smith and David Thompson, founding directors of Art Inc, have joined the specialist Lloyd's underwriting agency to develop their existing portfolio, which includes a UK art and antique dealer account.

Wilmott-Smith and Thompson, who expect to write £7m premium in the first year, will introduce a new terrorism and contingency portfolio to URSL, a subsidiary of Lloyd's insurer, Talbot.

The specialist underwriting business includes complex terrorism risks for sporting events such as the Cricket World Cup and the London Marathon.
