Fitch Ratings has assigned an AA Long-term issuer rating to Prudential Plc and a AA- rating to the company's junior subordinated debt. The rating outlook is stable.
Fitch said the ratings reflect "Prudential's strong position in the UK and US long-term savings markets, the growth opportunities offered by Prudential Corporation Asia (PCA), the group's capital strength - especially in the UK - its strong financial flexibility, good profitability and excellent margins on new business."
Prudential Plc acts as a holding company for the Prudential group. The main operating units are Prudential Assurance Company (PAC) of the UK, the US insurance company, Jackson National (Jackson), and PCA.
