Three areas of the UK were hit by flooding yesterday.

Flash floods struck Dorset, with Lulworth and Bournemouth the worst-affected areas. Waist-high water was reported in some homes, and damage was sustained to public and private property and vehicles.

According to BBC reports, various buildings and businesses were forced to close, including Poole’s Dolphin Shopping Centre, the Russell Coates Museum on Bournemouth seafront and the Sir David English Sports Centre.

Flash flooding in Berkshire, in particular Reading and the borough of Wokingham, also closed roads and public buildings.

Meanwhile, roads were flooded in Hampshire as a result of heavy rain. Affected areas included Basingstoke, Southampton, Winchester, Ringwood and the New Forest.
