A leading firm of brokers has warned that recent floods are driving up household premiums.
Charcol's Nigel Asplin said that premiums on 500 home insurance policies due for renewal this month are set to rise by between 8% and 15%, according to the Financial Times.
Charcol's warning comes as a two-year promise by insurance companies not to refuse cover expired this week.
The ABI has claimed, howeve,r that 1.8 million of the
2 million properties at risk of flooding would have no problems getting cover.
