FM Global scooped the European business insurer of the year award at the 2004 European Risk Management Awards last night.
Over 500 risk managers, insurers, brokers and service providers from as far afield as Norway and Italy gathered at the Park Lane Sheraton to celebrate the best in risk management. The awards were run by Insurance Times’ sister title Strategic Risk (www.strategicrisk.eu).
The rigorous judging process, which involved entrants presenting in person to the judges, yielded the following results:

· Best risk training programme, R&SA Risk Solutions - BAA
· Best corporate social responsibility programme, sponsored by Hugh James - Royal Mail
· Enterprise-wide risk management programme, sponsored by Global Reinsurance - National Grid Transco
· Best risk management approach in the public sector, sponsored by Berrymans Lace Mawer - City of Sunderland
· European risk management team of the year, sponsored by ACE European Group - AstraZeneca
