Liverpool Victoria has announced major plans for its recent acquisition ABC Insurance.

Liverpool Victoria will use ABC Insurance as its main broker-facing brand and has named former NIG managing director Phil Bunker as its head.

A number of other executives have joined ABC Insurance. John Robson is head of business development, while Mick Davis and John Sadler are branch managers for Yorkshire and the South-East, respectively.

Richard Ellis has left Royal & SunAlliance to join ABC as commercial pricing manager, while former Cox general manager and head of group marketing Kevin Gill will assist Bunker in business development.

Bunker commented: “Strong broker relationships will be core to ABC's business development strategy and we are recruiting a high quality team who know the broker market well and who already have long established relationships in place. I am delighted to welcome the new members of the team on board and I look forward to announcing further additions to the team in the New Year.”

As we reported in September, Liverpool Victoria acquired ABC Solutions, the start-up general insurance business led by John O'Roarke, former chief operating officer at Royal Bank of Scotland Insurance.

Liverpool Victoria recently announced its plans to become a top five general insurer over the next five years, with a £150m investment plan.
