Fusion has made a raft of hires to boost its Leeds office and strengthen its liability and motor fleet division.

The managing general agent (MGA) has increased the headcount in Leeds branch by 11. This includes seven new hires from outside of the company and four from other Fusion branches.

The appointment also includes the creation of a new role, broker development coordinator, which has been taken up by Kieran Fletcher.

Fletcher joins Fusion from Allianz where he had been a business development coordinator.

The other new appointments include; regional development underwriter Kaj Kaur from AXA, new business trader Joanne Jepson from Packetts Insurance Brokers, trader Ian Thompson from UK General and fleet trader Lyn Redihough from broker Hendersons.

The MGA has also taken on two technicians from QBE; Jessica Chapman and Hiran Tura, Technician.

Four staff from other Fusion offices have also moved to the Leeds branch.

These are regional development underwriter Jim Featherstone, trader Timothy Mackfall and two technicians; Melissa Hibbert and Ben Warburton.

Commenting on the appointment Fusion chief executive David Bruce said: “With the recent opening of Fusion office in Manchester our Leeds office can dedicate its efforts on the brokers in the North East.

“Recruiting new team members and reshaping the team means that the Leeds office can continue to provide the high levels of service and advice that our brokers expect from all our offices across the country.”

Last June former regional director for the north Rob Chapman who headed up the Leeds office resigned from Fusion, along with Bristol branch manager Nick Milton for new roles at Arthur J Gallagher.

Their resignation followed that of Fusion’s managing director Nick Wand underwriting director Stewart Gardiner in the same month.
