GAB Robins has denied problems with staff retention after further losses including project management head Peter Thorsen to set up his own business.

According to a company spokeswoman, Thorsen is leaving the company but will continue working for GAB on a contractual basis.

However, the company also announced that it was recruiting surveyors and engineers, doubling the size of its eastern England team.

GAB Robins managing director Derek Coles said: "Our recruitment has included a number of engineers and surveyors to support our existing field force and I am delighted that we have been able to boost our capability in subsidence engineering."
