Giles hires MD for north of England

Giles has hired Paula Williams as managing director for the north of England.

Williams, who joins from Alec Finch Group, will start her new role on 1 August 2012.

She joined Alec Finch in 2007 and become managing director a year later.

Following Alec Finch’s acquisition by Verlingue, a French independent broker, she led the UK team responsible for the integration of the business with its new parent company.

Prior to joining Alec Finch, Williams spent 13 years at Jardine Lloyd Thompson in Manchester, joining as an account executive and rose to regional managing director.  At the time of leaving she was the longest-standing regional managing director.

Giles chief executive Brendan McManus said: “I am delighted to welcome Paula to Giles. An experienced and exceptionally successful professional, she is an ideal individual to strengthen our senior management team and head up our northern region as we continue to attract high calibre people to the group.”

Williams added: “I am excited to be joining the team at Giles as regional managing director for the North.  My aim is to drive organic growth, by focusing on integration, building the sales pipeline and increasing investment in developing and attracting the best people to Giles.”
