Brokers

Junction

Junction has appointed two marketing managers.

Amanda Jarman has been promoted to the new role, having been with Junction for two years. She has five years' experience in direct marketing, including three years with GUS Home Shopping.

Louisa Rout has joined the company from Thomas Cook, where she was head of direct marketing for Blue Sky Holidays. At Junction, she will have responsibility for development and implementation of marketing strategies and all internal and external communications.

Heath lambert
Heath Lambert Group has appointed Laurence Lemee to its London-based marketing department.

Lemee moves to Heath Lambert from Jardine Lloyd Thompson Corporate Risks, where she was responsible for national research and development, creating new business plans and undertaking industry sector studies.

Medicash
Medicash has appointed a new IT manager.

Stephen Feltham joins Medicash after holding various IT-based roles with Eagle Star, Computacenter and Codemasters. He has also carried out consultancy work for a number of private and public clients and lectured in IT at Stratford College.

Carvill
Reinsurance intermediary Carvill has appointed Dr Steve Smith, an atmospheric physicist, to its ReAdvi-sory team as vice president.

Smith will be responsible for leading Carvill's catastrophe modeling efforts, consulting with clients regarding accumulations and other catastrophe related exposures, and aiding in the development of ReAdvisory models and products. Prior to joining Carvill, Smith was the director of research and development at Ace Tempest Re.

UKI Partnerships
UKI Partnerships has appointed Nick Fox as product development manager.

Fox was previously client business analyst at Debenhams. Prior to that he was senior financial analyst at Sainsbury's and finance manager for Asda.

Insurers

Hardy

David Mann has joined the board of Hardy Underwriting Agencies.

Mann was previously active underwriter of non-marine Syndicate 435. The syndicate was managed by DP Mann, which was acquired by General Re in 1998.

BiB Underwriters

Agricultural and rural insurance specialist BiB Underwriters has promoted its two regional team leaders to new roles.

Anthony Murray, previously team leader of the northern underwriting team, becomes broker development executive. He will be on the road developing and servicing BiB's panel of brokers.

Andrew Spencer, team leader for the southern underwriting team, becomes underwriting manager.

Murray has been with the company for seven years in various roles, and Spencer has been with BiB for five years.

GE Insurance Solutions

Tony Buckle and Peter Tailby have been appointed to lead GE Insurance Solutions' global engineering team.

Buckle was formerly risk manager for GE Insurance Solutions' property and specialty risk teams and Tailby joins from Royal & SunAlliance. Buckle is appointed business leader for global engineering and Tailby is appointed engineering underwriting leader. Both will be based in the London office.

Beazley

Beazley Group has appointed Christian Schirmer as manager of ceded reinsurance.

Schirmer joins from McKinsey & Co, where he spent the past five years advising senior management within the European insurance industry on key strategic and operational issues. He has more than 13 years' global insurance experience.

Technology

Audatex

Audatex UK has appointed Richard Salters as commercial director.

Salters is responsible for the development of the company's body repair estimating and motor claims solutions. He has 15 years' experience in IT solutions, particularly in the motor claims sector.

Law

Pinsents

Pinsents Insurance & Reinsurance Group has appointed insurance specialist Matthew Griffith from Ashurst.

Griffith joins as a partner. During his ten years at Ashurst, he focused on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions within the general insurance sector.

Hill Dickinson

Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has appointed Stephen Walsh as partner to its industrial disease team in London.

Walsh joins from niche insurance firm Plexus Law. Prior to that he was a partner at Berrymans Lace Mawer.

Shoosmiths

Shoosmiths has appointed Paul Hurley as business development manager.

Hurley has been recruited to support the development of the firm's legal expenses division, which handles more than 50,000 personal injury claims per year on behalf of insurers. He has 18 years' experience in the insurance industry, most recently as managing director of Arag UK, a German legal expenses insurer.

Debevoise & Plimpton

Insurance lawyer Christopher Henley, formerly at Ashurst, has joined Debevoise & Plimpton's insurance practice.

In addition, senior corporate lawyer Christopher Mullen, whose practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets, has been promoted to international counsel.

Other

Mondial

Assistance and customer care organisation Mondial has appointed Claire McKinnon as national sales manager for its corporate and travel division.

McKinnon was previously head of sales and marketing for Mondial until 1997, before taking a career break to have a family.
