Private medical insurer Exeter Friendly Society has appointed Michael Dunford as actuary and chief underwriter.

Previously assistant actuary at Permanent Insurance/Liverpool Victoria, Dunford will head up a new department that will assist in developing new products for UK and overseas markets.

Sarah Pyne joins to manage the business development department. Previously, she worked as a communications executive at Liverpool Victoria and in the marketing department at Permanent Insurance.

NFU Mutual
Jim Creechan has been appointed as company secretary and group legal adviser to NFU Mutual following the retirement of Bill Cooper.

NMU
NMU has promoted Matthew Drinkwater to development underwriter. He has worked for NMU as account handler since October 2000. Previously he worked in the Leeds and Manchester marine markets.

John St Leger has been appointed as compliance manager.

He joined NMU four years ago as a development underwriter, having worked for more than 20 years in the Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham marine markets.

BIB Underwriters
BIB Underwriters has appointed four new employees to its expanding team.

Julie Simpson, James Leathley and Ray Norcup have all joined the company as general insurance underwriters while Katrina Durham has taken on an administration role.

Bland Bankart
Bland Bankart has appointed Billy Johnson as part of a recruitment drive aimed at attracting graduates to the insurance profession.

He will spend two months in each ofBland Bankart's three operating divisions, learning business processes and operations.

Monument Insurance Brokers
Monument Insurance Brokers, the Lloyds broking arm of the Primary Group, has appointed Andrew Moulton as executive chairman.

He takes over from Ian Bond who has moved to the Primary Group's strategic development team. Moulton joins from American Equity Underwriters Inc in the US where he was president.

HSBC Insurance Brokers
HSBC Insurance Brokers has appointed Christopher Galyer, Bruno Le Roy and Morley Speed to its board.

Bruno Le Roy joined HSBC Insurance Brokers in 1986 and has been managing director of the jewellery & fine arts unit since 1999.

Morley Speed joined HSBC Insurance Brokers in July 1988 as a director of the treaty reinsurance unit and was appointed managing director of that unit in April 2002.

Christopher Galyer joined HSBC Insurance Brokers in 1999 as director of legal & compliance.

Hodge Insurance Brokers
Hodge Insurance Brokers has appointed Sheridan Smith as senior account executive.

Smith joins from Countrywide Insurance Marketing in Peterborough, where he held the position of business development manager.

He has also worked at: Minet Insurance Brokers; Gibbs, Hartley & Cooper (now HSBC); Alexander Stonehouse; RHA Insurance Services; and NU Healthcare.

Silverbeck Rymer
Law firm Silverbeck Rymer has strengthened its personal injury technical team with the appointments of Geoff Owen, previously with Eversheds and Alex Holt and Tony Hill, both from Hill Dickinson.

Owen and Holt are based in the firm's Liverpool office, while Hill is based in Chelmsford, Essex.

David Walker has been appointed as business solutions director at GAB Robins.

He was previously a national account director at GAB Robins.

CTC Services
Paul May has been appointed chairman and chief executive of CTC Services. He will also continue as executive director with strategic responsibility for HR of the parent company, Charles Taylor Consulting .

May has nearly 30 years' business experience, most of it in the loss adjusting and insurance industries.

He is a fellow and past president of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters, a fellow of the CII and holds degrees in law and business administration.

eWitness
Eric Peel has been appointed a board director of eWitness, the Leeds-based company that offers medical reporting service to the personal injury insurance market.

Peel joined eWitness in early 2000 from out-of-hour's medical service provider Healthcall. He brings to eWitness more than 27 years of doctor-patient experience.

International SOS
International SOS has made three new appointments. Munro Deysel has been appointed general manager sales and marketing UK; Stephen Madeley joins the company as business development director, insurance; and Graham Locke is appointed business development manager, financial services.

Deloitte Consulting
Deloitte Consulting has appointed Louis Jordan as head of its global insurance practice.

Previously in the role of head of the European insurance practice, he is now responsible for Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.

Jordan joined Deloitte Consulting from KPMG in early 2001.

Sherwood International
Sherwood International has appointed three new non-executive board directors. The three new appointments are:

Stuart Drew, director of Deloitte Consulting; Robert Youngjohns, executive vice president of global sales operations for Sun Microsystems; Philip Crawford, former i2 Technologies president of Europe, the MiddleEast and Africa.

Manson Warner Healthcare
Private medical insurance consultant Manson Warner Healthcare has appointed Margaret Stoddard as senior consultant to further develop the company's client base in the North East and Scotland region.

She previously worked at The Healthscheme.
