Hiscox
Nigel Bowie is appointed to head Hiscox Syndicate 33's Enterprise Risk division. Bowie is a Hiscox principal and has been an underwriter at Hiscox for more than 20 years. The division underwrites various kinds of financial contingency which are not covered by traditional policies.

Firstcity
Firstcity has made several appointments. Matthew Swayne is appointed executive director of the company's reinsurance division. Hunter Riley is appointed head of the new accident and health sector team, which includes Amelia Robinson, Tony Gower and James Begley. The team will be responsible for the continued development of the company's accident and health account in both the direct and reinsurance sectors.

Old Mutual
Old Mutual has made two appointments. Brett Williams is appointed managing director, sales and marketing. Williams was previously sales and marketing director for Rothchilds International.
Tony Shearer is appointed managing director, operations. The team is responsible for the company's South African and Asian unit.

Towergate
Towergate has made three divisional directorate appointments. Kenny Maciver is appointed divisional director commercial lines. He was previously managing director at Groupama. Douglas Young, is appointed group operation director and divisional director travel. He was previously managing director at BMS. Colin Birch is appointed divisional director personal lines division. He previously worked for CGU.

Beazley
Paul Bromley is appointed underwriter responsible for the Binding Authority book of business at Beazley Syndicate 623. He joins the syndicate from Terra Nova Insurance, where was deputy non-marine facultative and direct underwriter.

Healthsure
Healthsure has appointed two managers. Sarah de Garis is appointed fiels accounts manager. She has worked for Niagra Healthcare and First Medical Healthplans in the past. Timothy Egan-Newlove is appointed corporate account manager. He was previously with Devon Publishing.

GE Frankona Re
Tony O'Leary is appointed managing director of GE Frankona Re's UK life and health business.
O'Leary brings 29 years of reassurance experience to his new position. He is also member of key industry committees, including the Association of British Insurers (ABI) Genetics Committee and the Life Assurance and Medical Affairs Committee (LAMAC), which he currently chairs.

Cassidy Davis Insurance Group
David Swan is appointed mortgage indemnity underwriter. With over 20 years industry experience, Swan has been underwriting mortgage indemnity for 12 years with a major insurance company.

Wheelies Direct
Carl Jones is appointed human resources manager. He previously worked for the Employment Service, in recruitment and selection, marketing and customer services.

Aon
Aon has made two appointments in its aviation consultancy and reinsurance services division of Aon Re Worldwide. Nigel Baker is appointed technology consultant. He was previously ecommerce consultant for Markel International. Eamonn McMurrough is appointed actuary. He was previously head of actuarial services at Guardian.

Carlyle
Chris Brennan, technical support manager, has qualified as associate of the Institute of Risk Management. Working as a specialist advisor in this field, Brennan is one of a relatively small number of risk management experts in Wales to achieve this qualification.

Technology

CMG
Tom Race is appointed project director. He will act as consultant and programme manager on business re-engineering projects. He was previously vice president of Deutsche Bank, where he was responsible for the static data group.

Core
Bob Finch is appointed chairman of Core. Finch has been an independent director in more than 12 companies and is currently on the board of three IT companies.

Law

Greenwoods
Chris Crowcroft is appointed chief executive of Greenwoods solicitors. By profession he is a chartered accountant and has been director of various private and public companies in the past.

Weightmans
Weightmans has made several appointments. Ian Evans is appointed new senior partner. He has been with the firm since 1973 and has held a number of senior positions in the practice. Evans is also company secretary of Business Opportunities on Merseyside (BOOM). Mike Radcliffe is appointed managing partner. Since qualifying in 1980, Radcliffe has held several senior positions at Weightmans.
David Lewis is appointed managing partner designate. He has been with the company for a number of years and specialises in employer's liability and personal injury work.

Gordon Vater is appointed operations director of the company's loss adjusting arm. He will also be director of Claim Analysts, the group's consultancy division.Vater previously held management and consultancy positions at Miller Fisher Group.

Integrum
Clifton Melvis is appointed director of Integrum. He previously worked as managing director of business development at GE Insurance Holdings and has more than 20 years experience in the insurance and retail financial services services.

TC Group
TC Group has appointed Mark Jones business development manager of its Oracle HR team. Jones had ten years' experience in HR management before he joined Oracle two and a half years ago as a consultant.

Docucorp
Ian Arundell is appointed to the UK sales team. He joins Docucorp from Valid Information Systems.
