Insurer Hiscox is soon to go live with its high net worth household insurance – and they will be allowing the facility to be used on a broker's website.

The facility has been built so that a third party – including brokers – can use it on its own website.

Hiscox will deal with the tail-end of the business transaction, including the underwriting and processing of policies and claims.

The site will be branded by Hiscox, and third party distributors will be able to co-brand areas of it.

Customers will be able to update their cover details online at any time.

Claims can also be made online or through a 24-hour telephone hotline.

Premiums are to be paid monthly by direct debit and will be adjusted automatically if the policyholder changes the scope of cover.

The site's added bonuses include the provision of tips and advice on home security and discounts on the services of Hiscox-approved valuers and security products.

Specific questions on home security can be posted by a secure messaging service to the site and Hiscox's own in-house head of security will reply by email or telephone.

The service will be launched commercially in May on www.hemscott.net.
