Troubled workers can now access essential information about their health and safety rights via the internet.

The UK's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has created a “workers' web page” so concerned employees can check the regulations and air their problems.

The site will also offer a secure section for whistleblowers and workers who wish to complain that their working conditions are placing them in danger.

Links to the TUC website and useful contact details are also posted on the site. The site is: www.hse.gov.uk/workers.

Health and Safety Commission chair-man, Bill Callaghan, said: “Increasing use of the internet makes the webpage an ideal tool to get the HSE's message across.

“In working with stakeholders, we are committed to operating in a modern, open fashion.”
