The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has issued a briefing note outlining the benefits of embedding risk management.
The IIA said internal auditors had an opportunity to provide advice and coaching on embedding risk management, by helping senior management to understand the benefits of risk management systems.
It said many firms had been through the first stages of risk management implementation, but had not embedded risk management fully into their business practices.
