Earlier this month, Backchat told the sorry tale of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Independent Insurance liquidator Dan Schwarzmann, whose subsiding house was insured by Independent.
It seems Schwarzmann now has a shoulder to cry on. Trevor Davies, founding partner of Independent Insurance's lawyer Davies Lavery, has a house in London's trendy East End, which is also suffering from subsidence. And, like Schwarzmann, his building insurance policy was with – you guessed it – Independent Insurance. Davies is waiting patiently for the Policyholders' Protection Board to stump up the £2,000 he is owed.
