The Securities & Investment Institute (SII) has called for people working in the financial sector to face mandatory tests to keep them up to date with the latest industry development.
In a poll conducted by the SII, 75% of its members said they were in favour of continuous professional development exams.
It said respondent felt continuous testing would enhance the sector's reputation, which has taken a battering over issues such as mis-selling endowment policies.
