Insurer reports 26% growth in business from broker accounts
The general insurance division of life insurer Legal & General (L&G) wrote gross premiums of £252m in the first nine months of 2012, up 14% on the £221m it wrote in the same period last year.
In its third-quarter interim management statement, the insurer attributed the increase in GI gross written premiums to a 35% growth in direct sales and a 26% increase in sales from broker accounts.
L&G’s UK protection gross written premium increased 6% to £968m in the first nine months of 2012 (9M 2011: £915m).
