Insurers are to be offered a new integrated accident claims service by a firm of Leeds solicitors to help speed up pre-action legal work in line with the Woolf reforms.

Lupton Fawcett (LF) says its new service is a response to recent reforms to civil litigation rules that bind insurers to pre-action protocols.

The key concern for parties is the fact that a decision regarding liability has to be made within three months of a claim being received.

The new service includes investigation of claims; collation of documentation; preparation of statements of evidence; a report on liability; and drafting of responses to claimants' solicitors.

"We're trying to help insurers to comply with the new cards-on-the-table approach. This covers road traffic accidents and fatal accidents as well as employers' and public liability," said Lupton Fawcett partner Suzanne Watkinson, who will administer the

service.
