Lord Hunt of Wirral, senior partner of national law firm Beachcroft Wansbroughs, has been made an Honorary Fellow of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.

The Institute said this was the first time that any such position had been awarded. It also decided to offer the position to the former chairman of the Health and Safety Commission, Sir Frank Davies.

Institute chairman Edward Quigley said the Institute had decided to recognise both Hunt and Davies for their outstanding work in the world-wide advancement of professional standards in accident prevention and occupational health.
