In the first step in a major overhaul AMG changes its name.

Loss adjuster AMG has rebranded as Merlin Professional Claims Services, as one of the first steps in a major overhaul of the business under new chief executive Richard Webster.

Merlin Professional Claims Services will operate as three brands to support its key service lines: Merlin Household; Merlin Commercial and Complex; and Merlin Liability

As Insurance Times reported in March, Webster, who joined in January, is streamlining the business and integrating AMG’s acquisitions of Carr Greenwood Smith and Sigma Claims Solutions. This will see the group’s 16 regional offices reduced to around nine within three years.

Webster said: “Our mission is to deliver a total solution for household, commercial and complex, and liability claims, with products that cater for the full range of claims services demanded by the insurance industry.

“These range from core loss adjusting-led services through to fully delegated outsourced claims management, and restoration and repair solutions,” he said.

Teams from each of Merlin’s service lines will be located throughout its network of regional offices, with each claim allocated to an individual case handler and supported by the latest IT technologies.

Wesbter said: “In the last few years the landscape for our industry has changed considerably and we are now a larger, more complex group with considerable challenges.

“The planned investment within the business gives us the opportunity to inject new talent with fresh ideas, not hampered by the actions of the past or restricted in their thinking for the future.”
