Independent Insurance creditors are being urged by lawyers to write en masse to the insurer's liquidator.

They should ask him how his claims against Independent's actuaries and auditors are going, says Class Law, solicitors for the Creditors of Independent Insurance Group (CIIG).

The group wrote to its 1,000-plus members this week to tell them it intended to lobby the EU about the FSA's role in Indie's collapse.

It will leave the pursuit of Watson Wyatt and KPMG to liquidator PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).

But the letter from Class Law said PWC was moving disappointingly slowly and needed urging on.

"We attach to this report a specimen letter and would ask that you complete this as soon as possible and send it to the liquidator," Class Law advised.

Expect a full letterbox soon, Dan Schwarzmann.
