North west brokers Cloughley Insurance Service and Thompson Jones & Co Chartered Accountants have merged to form Thompson Jones Cloughley.

The new company will be targeting small- to medium-sized companies.

About 90% of its £2,250,000 premium income is commercial lines and it is expected to generate brokerage fees of about £310,000.

Managing director John Bradbury said: "Most service providers seem to give quality of service directly proportional to the size of their client and therefore the fee.

"This offers poor value to smaller companies whose needs are just as great as the larger companies."

Thompson Jones Cloughley will operate out of offices in Heap Bridge, Bury.
