MMA is hoping to slash its spending on bodily injury claims by rolling out a Bupa-run assessment and treatment service across the country.
Under the programme third parties who suffer injuries at the hands of MMA customers will be given the once-over by Bupa as soon as an accident is reported, cutting the risk of them being poached by claims farmers at a later date.
The national launch follows a pilot scheme which suggested the company's expenditure on bodily injury claims, particularly whiplash, could be halved.
MMA's claims business development manager Andrew Redmayne said: “We are confident this service will reduce exposure to financial compensation not least through the removal of unnecessary legal costs.”
