Clare joins RBS from NFU
Allan Clare left NFU Mutual last week to join RBS Insurance as head of counter fraud solutions. His appointment is effective as of 22 January.
Sutton sells broker arm
Towergate has acquired Sutton Transmar from the Sutton Group. The broker specialises in haulage, removal and storage, freight forwarding and marine cargo risks, controlling more than £4m in gross written premium.

Steve Gelder, managing director of East Midlands insurance repair and renovation building firm Gelder Group, has received an MBE in the 2007 New Year Honours List

Ace has upgraded its IT hardware and network security policy, available via SSP Sector and Acturis.
ComputerGuardPlus now incorporates cover for financial losses resulting from crime or accidental damage to data and systems. The policy also covers hacking, website defacement, denial of service attacks and viruses.
