Venture Preference acquires

AXA-owned Venture Preference acquired three brokers adding £25m to its gross written prem-ium. Leatherhead-based Castle-bank, controlling £8m in GWP and Kendal-based Talbot which has £10m GWP have been acquired by Smart & Cook. Property specialist Neville Insurance Consultants, which controls £7m GWP, has been bought by Stuart Alexander. Venture Preference currently controls over £500m in premiums. It aims to control £1bn of gross written premium by 2010.

APC adds product

APC Underwriting will add a product for shopkeepers to its broker trading platform QuoteMac.

SmartWater protection

Ecclesiastical will use SmartWater to protect more than 16,500 Anglican churches it insures from metal thieves.

Evolution adds to online

Evolution added excess of loss public liability to its portfolio of online products. Capacity for the contract is provided by Allianz.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
