Miller has appointed Paul Cumberland to the newly created role of chief broking officer.
The role will see Cumberland be responsible for strategic market engagement, data-driven innovation and service enhancements across the firm.

With over 25 years of industry experience, Cumberland brings expertise in broking, underwriting and portfolio management across a wide range of business lines and market segments.

He has held senior roles at Aon, Markel and Marsh. Most recently, he was executive director at Howden, where he led on portfolio analytics and optimisation, delegated placement, market consultancy and strategic trading.
In his new role, he will report directly to James Hands, Miller group chief executive.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
