’His extensive experience across multiple markets, deep expertise in P&I and proven leadership make him the ideal candidate,’ says head

Specialist (re)insurance broker Miller Insurance has appointed Nick Taylor as head of direct P&I.

In his new role, Taylor will be responsible for developing the direct P&I broking team to further enhance Miller’s proposition to marine clients.

Bringing over 15 years of experience in the sector, Taylor most recently served as head of coastal and island at NorthStandard, where he was responsible for the club’s small ship P&I business.

He will report to head of direct marine Nick Summers.

Summers said: “I am excited to welcome Taylor to the team as we further expand our marine proposition.

”His extensive experience across multiple markets, deep expertise in P&I and proven leadership make him the ideal candidate to lead and develop our direct P&I broking team.”

Experience

Prior to the merger with North, Taylor held several senior roles at Standard Club, including leading the incorporation of an Irish insurer following Brexit and the separation of the club’s management from Charles Taylor.

With extensive P&I experience spanning Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, he also spent seven years in Singapore where he led Standard Club’s Asia-Pacific underwriting function.

Taylor said: “It is a pleasure to join Miller and be part of its marine offering.

”The marine sector faces a complex risk environment and I look forward to working closely with Summers and the team to further expand Miller’s offering to meet the changing needs of the maritime insurance market.”
