Brit opens Reading office

Brit has opened an underwriting office in Reading, covering UK product lines. Richard Carter will act as southern regional manager, with Mick Hunter developing business relationships.

St Albans office for Arista

Commercial lines underwriter Arista Insurance has opened a new office in St Albans to support brokers in the capital, the northern home counties and East Anglia. The team will report to the regional manager for the South East, Andy Wright.

Workplace injuries

Almost 12 million Britons incurred injuries or illness in the workplace last year, according to research from RSA. Over half of this figure sued their employers and 33% sought the support of trade unions.

Deloitte promotes four

Deloitte has promoted four senior members of its acturial and insurance practice. Paul Coulthard becomes a partner, Amish Desia is now associate partner and Philip Oliver and Julia Holden are both promoted to director.

RSA acquires

RSA has acquired the renewal rights for insurer Navigator’s regional marine and engineering portfolio, worth £4m GWP. Navigator’s regional portfolio consists of approximately 1,200 clients.

Willis appoints Prinn

Willis has appointed Jonathan Prinn as managing director of strategic carrier relationships. Prinn spent the last 18 years at rival broker Marsh and was most recently global chief operating officer of the facultative division of Guy Carpenter.
