’His understanding of the specialty insurance market, commercial perspective and experience of businesses at different stages of growth and evolution make him a natural fit,’ says chief underwriting officer
Clearwater Underwriting has appointed Henry MacHale as its new chief executive.

His appointment comes as the Aquiline-backed firm seeks to build a multiline specialty underwriting business, expanding beyond its established marine operations.
The MGA plans to grow through new underwriting capabilities, expansion into selected classes and markets and targeted mergers and acquisitions.
It said underwriting discipline and sustainable long-term profitability would remain central to its strategy as it expands the platform, supported by its broker and capacity relationships.
Richard Young, chief underwriting officer at Clearwater Underwriting, said: “The appointment of MacHale as our chief executive marks an important milestone for Clearwater Underwriting.
”We have built a strong business with an experienced team and see significant opportunity for its continued development. His understanding of the specialty insurance market, commercial perspective and experience of businesses at different stages of growth and evolution make him a natural fit.”
