The launch follows a successful pilot conducted last November and is ‘just the start of what is to come’, according to scheme manager

Goldman Sachs-backed broker Aston Lark has launched a new online broker portal for its specialist renovation insurance scheme, Renovation Plan.

The portal has been designed to allow brokers to quote and buy renovation insurance within minutes, as well as provide a means to process mid-term adjustments, bind cover, download documents and initiate communication with Renovation Plan team members.

According to Brooke Crisp, Renovation Plan’s manager, the new online portal underwent a pilot last November “with a selection of our broker panel, which had some fantastic feedback”.

Crisp continued: “This is really exciting for our team and the brokers we work with.

“Launching it fully and providing all brokers with the opportunity to quote and buy online is a brilliant way to begin the year. This new system is just the start of what is to come.”

Improving flexibility

Renovation Plan is a Biba-approved scheme for specialist renovation insurance, catering for both private and commercial clients.

Underwritten by Axis Underwriting Limited, a coverholder of Lloyd’s of London, the scheme provides three main levels of cover, plus optional extras, to cater for both the wholesale and retail market.

For Peter Blanc, group chief executive of Aston Lark, the scheme’s new portal enables “greater flexibility”.

He said: “Delivering an efficient service backed by a market-leading scheme is at the core of how Renovation Plan works with their brokers.

“The launch of this fantastic broker portal enables the team to further enhance the experience for brokers. Being able to quote and bind fully online allows brokers to have greater flexibility with their clients.

“The Renovation Plan team has done a terrific job of delivering this system for the start of 2021 and we’re really looking forward to what the rest of the year will bring.”

The broker portal is available to all brokers with a terms of business agreement (TOBA) in place. If a broker does not currently have a live agency, they can apply for one via Renovation Plan’s website.

Once a TOBA is agreed, brokers will be provided with account details for the portal.
