Brown and Brown grows Northern Ireland footprint with two acquisitions

Brown and Brown Europe has acquired Davison and Associates and Davison Lamont through its Northern Ireland hub ABL Group, a statement released today (16 October 2023) said.

Davison and Associates is a claims management companies specialising in large commercial and household losses, while appointed representative (AR) Davison Lamont is an insurance consultancy business.

Both firms, which are based in Northern Ireland, will be based ABL’s offices in Belfast as part of the deal.

Maurice Boyd, chief executive of insurance broker ABL, said the acquisition of Davison and Associates will “significantly enhance the claims service that it provides to its commercial customers”.

And Boyd felt that the firm’s AR business would “be a huge asset” to ABL’s customer proposition.

’Thrilled’

Davison and Associates was founded by Brian Davison and daughter Kathrine Davison in 2009, while Davison Lamont was established in 2012 with the help of Niall Lamont.

Boyd said he was ”thrilled to have acquired such a high-quality family-owned company”.

“Our customers will benefit significantly from access to Brian and his team’s deep experience on major and complicated claims cases,” he added.

“Brian and Niall [also] have an enviable track record of successful long-term relationships with their commercial customers.”

Davison added: “The opportunity to be part of the Brown and Brown team, with all the benefits that brings for our stakeholders, was a significant factor in our decision to sell the businesses.

“We look forward to working alongside Maurice and his team to expand and enhance our businesses in the years to come.”
