’I am delighted to welcome these 11 firms into the CII’s chartered community and congratulate them on taking this important step towards strengthening public trust and confidence in our profession,’ says president

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) awarded corporate chartered status to 11 insurance and financial planning firms between January and June 2026.

The newly chartered firms include Barwells Independent Financial Management, BSK Financial Planning, Dean Statham Wealth Management, Deep Dive Financial Planning, Fidelium Financial Planners, Financial Management Bureau, Grafton Court Wealth Management, Insurance Direct Group Solutions, Murray Paterson, Pentins Financial Planners and Vincent Colley Investment Advisors.

The status is granted to firms which demonstrate a commitment to the CII code of ethics, ongoing people development, customer-centric practice and initiatives that help build public trust in the sector.

Callum Beaton, president at the CII, said: “Chartered status is clear communication of a firm’s professionalism, ethical practice and commitment to continuous improvement.

”I am delighted to welcome these 11 firms into the CII’s chartered community and congratulate them on taking this important step towards strengthening public trust and confidence in our profession.”

Raising the standards

The CII is also updating its corporate rules to ensure chartered status continues to provide a clear signal of a firm’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

From July 2026, chartered firms are being invited to begin sharing evidence against an initial set of updated criteria at renewal, ahead of the new rules applying to new applicants from 2027.

Kate Gannon, vice president at the Personal Finance Society (PFS), said: “Achieving chartered status demonstrates a firm’s dedication and commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct and putting clients at the heart of everything they do.

”The work done by these firms helps to raise standards across the profession and build confidence in the value of professional financial advice.”
