Clear Group acquires Lloyd’s wholesale broker

Clear Group has acquired specialist Lloyd’s wholesale broker Newman Pearce and Partners (NPP) as it looks to strengthen its London market presence and accelerate growth in the wholesale sector.

Founded in 2019 by Gordon Newman, Neil Pearce and Colin Rogers, NPP provides specialist wholesale broking services to retail brokers and coverholders seeking access to Lloyd’s and international insurance markets.

The business specialises in global specialty, international liability, construction, offshore marine liability and specialist property risks.

Headquartered in London, NPP employs 24 people and has developed a predominantly international portfolio, with around 95% of its business originating from overseas markets. Its key territories include Canada, Australia and the US, alongside distribution relationships in Turkey, Africa and India.

Clear Group said the acquisition significantly expands its international footprint and specialist capabilities, complementing its existing wholesale operation Lilley Plummer Risks (LPR).

NPP has experienced growth in recent years, increasing revenue from approximately £5m in financial year 2025 to around £7m in financial year 2026.

Over the same period, gross written premium grew from roughly £70m to £120m.
