The intermediary’s ‘strong and growing offering in the HNW’ arena makes it a ‘perfect fit’ for the smaller broker, says managing director
Intermediary organisation Clear Group has bought London-based high net worth (HNW) broker Porticus Insurance Consultants in order to further grow its “already strong HNW capability”.

Porticus Insurance Consultants was founded in 2003 by its managing director Bill Baker. The firm focuses on advising clients around insurance for high value homes and motor vehicles, fine art and jewellery.
On completion of the deal, Baker and his team will join The Clear Group’s workforce.
‘Supporting smaller brokers’
Speaking on the acquisition, Mike Edgeley, group chief executive of The Clear Group, said: “Porticus has a great reputation in the HNW space and Bill and his team bring a tremendous wealth of experience to our already strong HNW capability.
“We’re delighted Bill and his team are joining us. This is another example of how Clear invests in and supports smaller brokers, adding more services to their clients and extending our own specialties”.
