Finch Group’s first acquisition of this year is also described as its largest to date

Finch Group has agreed what it says is ‘its biggest deal to date’, with the purchase of Oxfordshire-based Bridle Insurance.

The deal is its eighth acquisition since becoming an Ethos Broking regional partner in October 2016.

Bridle, based in Witney, manages £10m gross written premium and is a commercial and personal lines business with a strong focus on fleet. Established over 45 years ago, the broker now employs 17 people and is led by directors Neil Fox and Bob Turley.

Bridle will retain their current office premises and the staff will all stay with the business. Fox will move into a consultancy role whilst Turley will join the Finch Group management team.

Big deal

Commenting on the acquisition, Vince Gardner, Finch’s managing director, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Neil, Bob and the team to Finch. This eighth deal is our largest to date and Bridle Insurance is a brokerage I have admired for many years.

“They have strong client relationships and have a perfect cultural fit with the Finch group.

“Each of our acquisitions have brought a new dynamic to the group and I believe Bridle can only strengthen our offering in the South.

“We’re looking forward to the future and are hugely proud of the invaluable service our team is providing to SMEs in our region and beyond.”

This is Finch’s first acquisition of 2019. It announced two acquisitions in 2018 - Opus Risk Solutions in May, and Specialist Insurance Agency in December.
