The FCA says the clone ’is not authorised by us, but has been contacting people pretending to be an authorised firm’

The FCA has warned of a clone claiming to be Brighton-based Premium Wise Insurance Brokers.

The regulator said it had been alerted to fraudsters using the website https://www.grandguard.co.uk/ and the email grandguardpremium@gmail.com.

The watchdog added that this “is not authorised by us, but has been contacting people pretending to be an authorised firm”.

The FCA also said that the clone has no connection to Premium Wise Insurance Brokers and provided the correct information for the broker.

Warning

In its warning, the FCA said: “Scammers may give out other false details, including email addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses and firm reference numbers.

“They may mix these details with the genuine details of authorised firms.

“They may also change their contact details over time.”
