’She has a depth of experience across insurance and technology that few people can match,’ says chief executive
Genasys has appointed Becky Downing as chief operating officer (COO) as the firm looks to strengthen its operational capabilities.

Downing brings more than a decade of experience in the insurance sector, spanning both operational leadership and venture building.
She joins from By Miles, where she served as COO overseeing customer experience, operations and people.
Before this, she founded buzzvault, the connected home insurance proposition which secured early-stage backing from White Mountains Insurance Group and went on to establish partnerships including with Munich Re Digital Partners.
Her career also includes a role as venture director at Admiral Pioneer, where she supported the development of new businesses within Admiral Group.
Scaling operations
In her new role, Downing will report to Andre Symes, group chief executive at Genasys, and lead operations across delivery, customer success and scaling, covering the UK, Africa and other international markets.

Her appointment comes as Genasys expands its global footprint and client base across insurers, MGAs and brokers.
Downing said: “Genasys is one of the few insurance technology companies actively displacing legacy vendors in the mid-market. A lot of platforms claim that. Genasys is doing it.
“The opportunity to scale that operationally and to build the kind of culture that lets a fast-growing business keep its edge as it grows, is what attracted me to the role.”
Symes said Downing’s combination of insurance and technology experience would support the firm’s next phase of growth.
“She has a depth of experience across insurance and technology that few people can match and she joins at exactly the right moment to help us turn momentum into scale,” he said.
