The appointment follows former chief financial officer Richard Mangion departing the post

HDI Global has appointed Simon Hunt as chief financial officer for its UK and Ireland branch, it announced today (4 October 2022).

Hunt joins from the firm’s subsidiary HDI Global Speciality – UK branch (HSUB), where he also served as chief financial officer.

In his new role, the appointee will be responsible for the HDI Global UK and Ireland branch, in addition to HSUB’s operations division and its finance and risk functions in the UK and Ireland.

He will report to HDI UK and Ireland chief executive Richard Taylor and HDIG managing director Stephanie Ogden.

The appointment follows former chief financial officer Richard Mangion resigning at the end of August.

Strategic moves

Taylor said: “Simon continues to do a fantastic job for our UK specialty business – in three years he has transformed our finance and operations functions.

“With his role now spanning our commercial and specialty business, it will enable us to deliver a consistent approach across all three branches in the UK and Ireland.”

Ogden added: “I am pleased to welcome Simon to the executive team at HDI. I look forward to working with him in his new role as CFO for both organisations.

“I’d like to personally thank Richard Mangion for all he has delivered for HDI in the last eight years and wish him every success for his future.”
