‘Claims is a critical part of how Marsh serves our clients,’ says new appointee

Marsh has appointed Chetna Gulati-Kapoor as global chief claims officer for Marsh Risk.

Based in London, Gulati-Kapoor will lead Marsh Risk’s global claims strategy and work across the business to support clients with complex claims and strengthen claims advocacy.

Gulati-Kapoor has 20 years’ experience in claims advocacy and client service, having worked across private practice and insurers in India and the UK.

A solicitor by profession, she joined Marsh in 2021 from Can Hardy and most recently served as the broker’s global claims advocacy leader.

Commenting on the new role, Gulati-Kapoor said: “Claims is a critical part of how Marsh serves our clients. I look forward to working with our colleagues around the world to strengthen our offering and help clients when they need us most.”

‘Importance of claims’

She will take up the new role on 1 September and succeed Rob Powell, who will move into the role of chairman of global claims at Marsh Risk.

Gulati-Kapoor will report to John Donnelly, president of global placement at Marsh Risk.

Commenting on the appointment, Donnelly said: “She is a highly respected claims leader with an outstanding track record of supporting clients through complex and demanding situations.”

He added that the appointment reflected “the importance of claims to our business” and Marsh’s focus on client outcomes.
