‘Once again, we are lucky to have been able to call upon our strong internal talent pool to lead a key area,’ says executive director
Insurer QBE has appointed Jack Norman to the role of director of financial lines for its international markets portfolio, effective from September 2026.

Norman – who currently serves as the firm’s head of technical and business performance – will remain at QBE’s London offices and report to Kevin Shallow, executive director of international markets.
He inherits the role from previous incumbent Jamie Thompson, who was recently promoted to the newly created role of global director of data centres.
Since joining the firm as an assistant underwriter from Aon in 2012, Norman has held a series of increasingly senior roles at the firm. QBE said Norman “brings 15 years of experience to the role, having specialised in financial lines whilst working across multiple product lines”.
Strategic direction
In his new role, Norman will join the international markets leadership team and “work closely with underwriting teams and product leaders to set the strategic direction for the financial lines portfolio”.
