’The prompt and equitable resolution of claims is the standard by which the insurance industry is rightly judged,’ says appointee

Marsh has appointed Helen Haggie as UK chief claims officer for Marsh Risk, effective from 20 July 2026.

Based in London, Haggie will report to Tom Davies, head of UK placement at Marsh Risk, as well as Rob Powell, global chief claims officer at Marsh Risk.

In her new role, Haggie will oversee the delivery of claims services to Marsh Risk’s UK clients and support the use of claims data to improve risk management and placement decisions.

Haggie said: “The prompt and equitable resolution of claims is the standard by which the insurance industry is rightly judged.

“I look forward to working with our teams and the London market to ensure clients receive a seamless, trusted claims experience.”

Experience

Haggie joined Marsh in 2013 and currently leads the broker’s Finpro UK management liability team, where she is responsible for placing executive lines insurance into the London market for UK and international clients.

She has previously led Marsh Risk’s financial lines claims, as well as it’s complex claims and disputes division, supporting clients with high value and complex claims matters across multiple business lines.

Prior to joining Marsh, Haggie spent eight years at Herbert Smith Freehills, specialising in insurance and reinsurance disputes.

Davies said Haggie’s experience across claims, placement and dispute resolution made her “exceptionally well placed” to lead Marsh’s UK claim offering.

He added: “She will also accelerate existing strategies to ensure our clients have the full benefit of Marsh’s claims experience and knowledge to inform their placement decisions.”
