Claims services provider McLarens has appointed Michael Ledgerton as its new executive adjuster as it looks to expand its UK and Ireland major loss team.

Ledgerton will be based in Manchester and bring multi-sector experience around complex and major losses to the role.

Industries he has worked in over the last few years include real estate, retail, hospitality, food and drink, waste recycling and housing associations.

Darren Anderton, head of major loss for the North at McLarens, said: ”Michael is a seasoned major loss specialist and an excellent technical adjuster.

”We’ve made a strategic decision to expand our major loss proposition in recent years and we’re seeing continued growth and market demand as a direct result.”

Experience

Ledgerton’s adjusting career began with McLarens in 1991 after two years in the claims department of Legal and General in Manchester.

In 2002, he moved to Ashworth Mairs, before joining Cunningham Lindsey in 2005, becoming part of the complex and major loss team in 2009.

After a brief stint at Woodgate and Clark from 2014 to 2015, he then joined QuestGates, where he led the commercial major and complex loss team for eight years.

He has dealt with several incidents during his career, including the Oldham race riots in 2001, Manchester riots 2011 and UK floods.

He also serves on the committee of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) property special interest group and is also an examiner for CILA.

“Complex, technical loss adjusting has always been central to what we do and it’s great to have someone of Michael’s calibre joining the team,” Anderton said.
