’Brokers will play an important part in maximising our distribution,’ says chief executive

Direct-to-consumer motor insurtech Zixty has started offering its eco-friendly product to brokers.

The business said in a statement yesterday (19 April 2023) that it made the move as it looks to “maximise” its distribution.

Zixty offers short-term car insurance with free carbon offsetting, with its product aimed at occasional and short-term drivers who want to minimise the environmental impact of their driving.

The product will now be available for the market online as a quote and buy through a broker’s website, with introductory commission – it can also be white labelled.

Andy James, chief executive of Zixty, said: “As soon as we launched, we had interest from brokers.

“Whilst Zixty is foremost a direct-to-consumer brand, brokers will play an important part in maximising our distribution and this is the next step in our growth strategy.”

’Ticks the boxes’

A statement also revealed that Evergreen Insurance Services was the first broker to go live with Zixty.

The broker aims to donate up to 25% of its commission earned from each policy to one of its wildlife conservation charity partners.

Managing director David Gardiner said it was “vital to partner with insurers that have strong environmental credentials and values”.

“As a fresh, new, environmentally conscious insurer, Zixty ticks all the boxes and we’re thrilled to be launching this innovative, environmentally conscious, short-term motor cover as part of our personal and commercial lines portfolio,” he added.

James said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with an ethical broker like Evergreen – its values are closely aligned with our own.”
