It follows Slater and Gordon appointing Aviva’s former insurance executive to head it’s consumer and legal division

Slater and Gordon has won a renewed contract to provide accident management support and additional legal services for the RAC.

The three-year deal will see RAC members receive access to the law firm’s full range of consumer legal services which include family, employment, dispute resolution and criminal defence expertise.

It claims it will complement the RAC’s in house legal services team.

It follows a series of business developments from Slater and Gordon such as the appointment of former Aviva veteran, Angus Eaton to lead its consumer legal services provision.

This it said signals its intention to expand its market share within the insurance sector as well as growing its complementary services.

David Whitmore, Slater and Gordon’s chief executive, said: “This contract extension is great news for the RAC’s millions of members because it means they will have access to a range of legal and consumer services expertise under one roof.”

He said its end-to-end capabilities will enable consumers to tap into important expertise in a simple and cost-effective way.

RAC’s senior supplier partnership manager for legal services, David Adam, said the firm has worked closely with Slater and Gordon since 2013.

Last month, it also announced that it had won a five-year contract extension to provide accident management services to a leading insurance broker, Brightside.
