Galjaard was previously the divisional managing director for Markel UK and held the role for nine years.

Next is an insurer move as Adele Sumner, Intact Insurance UK’s director of counter fraud and financial crime, announced that she will be departing after 27 years at the firm.

In a post on LinkedIn (1 June 2026), Sumner said she would leave the business at the end of June, but hinted that she would continue working in the counter fraud space.

In the broker space, Aon appointed Helene Madell as chief executive of Aon’s Global Broking Centre.

Madell takes up the role after predecessor Tracy-Lee Kus was appointed one of the new co-chief executives for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea).

Then, HDI Global appointed Simon Hunt as its new UK and Ireland chief executive.

Hunt has served as interim chief executive since February 2026, following the departure of former boss Stephanie Ogden, and will now take on the role on a permanent basis.

Finally, MGA Bishop Street Underwriters appointed Karman Chan as chief financial officer.
