Making the move from his most recent role as group chief executive at Brace Underwriting, Holberry will work closely with Cogent’s group chief executive Mark Bishop, board and the wider leadership team.

Then, BMS Group appointed Paul Sheriff as group chief financial officer and executive director as the independent broker prepares for its next phase of growth.

Based in London, Sheriff joins the business in November and will report to group chief executive Nick Cook. He succeeds Charlie Rozes, who is leaving the broker following a succession planning process.

In departure news, Nicki Crabb, head of eTrade and schemes trading at Covéa Insurance, left the insurer after nine years to join MGA Commercial Express.

Crabb was appointed in 2017 as schemes development manager before adopting her current role in 2025, in which she was responsible for overlooking the firm’s SME schemes and eTrading proposition.

Next, Willis appointed Andy Chang as growth leader for its global direct and facultative business.

Joining from his position at Aon, Chang will lead business development and provide strategic guidance to clients and prospects throughout Willis and across the globe.

Finally, specialist MGA Euna appointed Steve Morse as head of personal lines as it continues to build out its recently launched private client proposition.

Morse arrives from Aviva, where he most recently served as underwriting director for Aviva Private Clients. Prior to that, he held a similar position at Axa XL.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “The opportunity to build a personal lines proposition from the ground up was a major attraction for me. Brokers need specialist underwriting expertise combined with speed, flexibility and accessibility – qualities that lie at the heart of Euna’s ethos.”
