’I am looking forward to the next chapter of the business’ evolution,’ says appointee
Wholesale broker Cogent has appointed Adam Holberry as chief executive designate.

Joining from 1 October 2026, Holberry will work closely with group chief executive Mark Bishop, Cogent’s board and the wider leadership team.
Bishop said: ”As Cogent moves into its next phase, our independence, culture and client focus will not change.
”I remain fully engaged on a day-to-day basis and Holberry’s arrival will give us extra capacity to deliver our growth plans. I am very excited to welcome him to the team.”
Experience
Holberry co-founded Brace Underwriting in October 2019, which aimed to take a different approach to underwriting within the Lloyd’s of London market.

Prior to this, he served at Hiscox for seven years in roles including line underwriter for international property and head of alternative risk at Hiscox.
Most recently, he held the position of group chief executive at Brace Underwriting.
Commenting on his appointment, Holberry said: “I am delighted to be joining Cogent.
“The company’s independence and entrepreneurial spirit give it a genuinely open, innovative approach to complex risk solutions and now is the time to build on that. I am looking forward to the next chapter of the business’ evolution.”
